ESA Technical Services LLC is a Dubai-based technical services company, established in 2006, specialising in GRP works, waterproofing, insulation and installation across the UAE. As insulation contractors in Dubai, we reduce heat gain into buildings and cabins, and heat loss or gain in pipework.
Thermal insulation slows the flow of heat through a surface. A material's thermal conductivity (the λ, or lambda, value) measures how well it does this: the lower, the better. Closed-cell polyurethane foam has one of the lowest values among common building insulations, so it achieves the same performance with less thickness.
Because we also waterproof and laminate, our insulation is designed as part of a system. Roof insulation is detailed together with the waterproofing, and pipe insulation is sealed inside a GRP jacket so moisture can't get in.

Insulation: common questions
Which insulation is best for the UAE climate?
For roofs and irregular surfaces, closed-cell PU foam is very effective because it's seamless and has a low thermal conductivity. For flat roofs, rigid boards within a combo roof system also work well. For pipes, the insulation must be sealed against moisture, which is why we jacket it with GRP.
Does insulation stop condensation?
Yes, when it's thick enough and fully sealed. Condensation forms when warm, humid air meets a cold surface such as a chilled-water pipe or a container wall. Insulation keeps the outer surface above the dew point, and a vapour-tight jacket stops moisture reaching the cold surface.
Can insulation be added to an existing roof?
Often, yes. Spray PU foam can be applied over a sound existing roof and then protected, or insulation can be added within a new combo roof build. We check the roof's condition and load first.
Is PU foam safe?
Cured PU foam is inert. During spraying, isocyanate vapours require controlled application, ventilation and full PPE, and the area is kept clear of other trades. Exposed foam must be protected from UV and, where required, meet the fire-performance specification for the building.
